Today , we celebrate International Midwives Day, in appreciation of the women who have the primary role in providing health care to women during childbirth in all circumstances, and in recognition of their vital role in light of the current conflict in the region.

We draw thanks and appreciation of this day for all midwives at 42 health facilities run by #Deem for Development within the UNFPA Yemen-funded reproductive health services project , on their life-saving work , as the health and lives of many women and newborn babies depend on midwives through childbirth and postpartum care.
