Lets work together to save our planet

Climate change is a global challenge that will be felt disproportionately by the most vulnerable countries. Yemen is one of these as well as one of the countries that is least prepared to adapt (Chenet al. 2023). With much of the population dependent on agriculture for work, the agricultural effects of climate change impact the lives and livelihoods of most Yemenis.

Our Programs

SHELTER

.

Shelter

Immediate emergency assistance for newly displaced families remains a significant challenge as the majority of displaced families tend to live in precarious situations for several weeks before basic emergency shelter and NFI assistance can be provided. The majority of IDPs in Yemen are living with host families but displacement already lasted longer than anticipated, and resources run out and the capacity of host families is extremely stretched.

PROTECTION

.

PROTECTION

The conflict escalated in March 2015 has aggravated the protection issues for women and girls especially with the big wave of movement of IDPs. The political unrest and conflict across the country made women more vulnerable to GBV and other issues. According to the GBVIMS, the trends of GBV cases is rising without fluctuation. This was alerting indicators and hence came this intervention to address GBV issues and provide specialized services to GBV survivors.

HEALTH

.

Health

The Yemen crisis remains one of the largest and most complex crises globally, and it is far from over. More than six years of instability, an economy on the verge of collapse, funding shortfalls, and the COVID-19 pandemic have converged to place lives at risk, with women and girls continuing to bear the brunt of these challenges. In addition, Yemen has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the Arab States region.

PEACE & COEXISTENCE

.

PEACE & COEXISTENCE

After years of conflict and humanitarian challenges, the pursuit of peace has become an urgent necessity to improve the lives of citizens and rebuild society. Achieving peace requires joint efforts from all stakeholders, to ensure a more secure and prosperous future for Yemen and its people.

WASH

.

WASH

WASH stands for water, sanitation and hygiene. Yemen is facing one of the worst WASH crises in the world, due to the ongoing conflict, displacement, water scarcity, and disease outbreaks. According to UNICEF¹, more than 16 million people, including 8.47 million children, urgently need WASH assistance in Yemen. They are at risk of waterborne diseases, malnutrition, and other life-threatening conditions.

RAPID RESPONSE MECHANISIM

.

RAPID RESPONSE MECHANISIM

The RRM aims to provide a minimum package of immediate most critical life-saving assistance for newly displaced persons who are on the move, in collective sites, hard to reach areas, or stranded in the military frontlines due to man-made or natural disasters or sudden urgent needs.
